II. HISTORY

Holy Rosary Academy was founded on October 28, 1950. It was originally named Lubao Central High School whose administration lay on the hands of prominent persons of the town under the direction of Rev. Fr. Diosdado G. Victorio. It was first housed at the spacious residence of Miss Felicidad B. Manuel, an energetic and assiduous person to whom the foundation of the school was attributed. She was joined by Dr. Macario Datu, Mr. Mariano Sagad and Miss Adelaida Velasco as the co-founders. Later, to boost the morale of the original founders, Dr. Eliodore Congco, Mrs, Juanita A. Vitug, Dr. Efren Baltazar and Mr. Rafael Razon joined the force who served as pillars of the foundation.

THE AIM OF THE FOUNDERS

During the first two years of its early beginning, the school offered subjects for the first and second year only. With just a handful of students to start with, it did not prove a hindrance to its founders whose sole aim was to "illuminate the minds of the youth as to the significance of life here on earth, which serves as a brief prelude to the life in heaven." Together with the other teachers, Ms. Manuel with her inexhaustible zeal for a holistic educatin buckled herself down to the great task of molding the character and building up the personality of the youth without the least expectation for remuneration. After a few years, the school populaiton increased which eventually  demanded a much wider space to accomodate the growing number of learners. Hence, the stockholders and the teafchers decided to move out to a more spacious site.

Upon its transfer, the name of the school was changed to Holy Rosary Academy named after Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, a universally known Marian name, projecting that this will be an institution administered and run by religious.
